We play a major role in tax planning and negotiating many M&A transactions and other cross-border transactions as well as in designing and implementing tax-free corporate reorganizations and transfers of assets. We advise our clients on all kinds of customs matters, in many cases in coordination with our International Trade practice group. Such advice includes regulatory matters, administrative and judicial proceedings, strategic operations, advice on national regulations and international treaties, duty issues and import restrictions.
In this area of ​​law and together with our international partners, we advise on business structuring and complex international transactions; consultancy in substantive tax planning; compliance; and assistance in obtaining tax efficiencies in business development. Since its foundation, HSR has combined traditional services, typically offered by large law firms, with innovative and strategic solutions, tailored to each of our clients.
The international exchange of information on issues of tax evasion and money laundering is emerging as an irreversible trend. In this context, we provide advice by developing, implementing and auditing prevention or integration programs (risk analysis, codes and policies, training) adjusted to the reality of each company.
The media and entertainment industry, meanwhile, faces radical changes, mainly through the development of new platforms and technologies. The advice includes complex infrastructure projects, such as the installation of submarine cables; obtaining telecommunication licenses for the different services; and the analysis of innovative services in the light of telecommunication standards.
Our public and administrative law practice covers a wide range of matters including: (i) Design of complex legal structures applicable to regulated activities, including advice to and professional representation of public utilities, ports, highways, airports, banks, insurance, hydrocarbons, health, agro-industrial companies and governmental suppliers of goods and services; (ii) Public works, infrastructure projects, project financing and public-private partnerships; (iii) Advice to private companies under government administration or subject to governmental stock participation; and (iv) Administrative contracts and procurement proceedings.

Our litigation experience covers a full range of contentious
matters, including advisory work, negotiation and filings
throughout the entire process. We cover a wide range of matters
including, the representation before federal and local courts
(including the Supreme Court) on behalf of both Argentine and
international clients in civil, commercial, tax, administrative, labor
litigation and class actions. Besides, we advise on administrative
proceedings before federal, provincial and local agencies and
institutions, including the Argentine Central Bank, the Consumer
Protection Agency, the Federal Tax Court, among others.

In this matter we have experience and knowledge thanks to the
representation of many of the main retail companies in Argentina.
In particular, we advise on extrajudicial claims made by

consumers, handling of large claims portfolios, strategies to
mitigate contingencies, liability for defective products, class
actions, claims related to the credit card regime, online purchases
and others. In this sense, we have a solid network of
correspondents throughout the country that allows us to provide
services all over Argentina.

Our labor law area provides a wide range of services that includes:
(i) the negotiation and drafting of employment contracts,
collective agreements, social security plans, termination
agreements and documents related to safety at work ; (ii) the
preparation and modification of compensatory structures; (iii) the
adaptation of international policies to Argentine law; (iv)
reorganizations and restructurings, massive layoffs, voluntary
retirement plans, crisis prevention programs, and negotiations in
all areas to implement the reorganizations; (v) dismissal of
hierarchical officials and participation in company audits in cases
of business fraud, and (vi) attention to extrajudicial (SECLO) and
judicial claims.
In terms of social security matters, we advise companies in
relation to union debt claims, social works and claims by the tax
authority (AFIP) for contribution debts.

We offer comprehensive services in order to establish, maintain
and protect the intellectual property rights of our clients, covering
unfair competition, Internet legal regulation and privacy. We
represent clients in trademark, patent and copyright registration
matters and in the management and enforcement of national and
regional intellectual property portfolios by filing, prosecuting and
applying for patents and trademarks globally.

The Firm advises insurance companies, reinsurers, intermediaries, and policyholders on all aspects related to insurance and reinsurance activity. Our practice includes regulatory advice before the Superintendencia de Seguros de la Nación, the drafting and analysis of policies, the interpretation of coverages, and the resolution of judicial and extrajudicial controversies.
We have solid experience in matters related to regulatory compliance, risk prevention, and adaptation to local and international regulatory standards. Furthermore, we intervene in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, and legal audits within the insurance sector.
